X-TOUCH Editor -------------- Windows editor for X-TOUCH COMPACT and X-TOUCH MINI, supporting Windows 7 and above. The editor is required for... 1. Changing controller assignments 2. Save/load presets (layers) 3. Updating firmware This release version contains: ------------------------------ 1. X-TOUCH Editor v1.21 2. Update Files: Firmware v1.12 for X-TOUCH COMPACT Firmware v1.08 for X-TOUCH MINI 3. Default Layers: Layers A + B (factory settings) for X-TOUCH COMPACT Layers A + B (factory settings) for X-TOUCH MINI IMPORTANT NOTE: All operations (edit, firmware update, factory reset) are handled within the editor. Generally there is no need to update the firmware or to reload factory presets. If you notice any problems, please visit www.behringer.com for updates. Editor operation - quick introduction: --------------------------------------- - Download the editor from www.behringer.com - Unzip to the desired location (e.g. programs folder or desktop) - Open the "X-TOUCH EDITOR" folder - Double-click on the X-TOUCH application to start the editor - If no hardware is connected, the editor starts in "Dummy mode": > "Compact" or "Mini" can be manually selected on the GLOBAL page. > All control elements can be edited offline and saved to computer, without the need for connected hardware. - If any hardware is connected, the editor will automatically detect the correct model and firmware. - If more than one hardware unit is connected, the preferred unit can be easily selected under "Hardware." Note: Several units can be connected simultaneously (e.g. 1x COMPACT, 2x MINI). - To start editing, there are 3 options: 1. LOAD a preset from the computer 2. GET Layer A or B from the connected hardware (this will dump the selected preset into the editor) 3. Just start from scratch, going through all tabs to make the desired settings - After editing, there are two options: (The preset has to be saved or dumped) 1. SAVE to computer 2. DUMP to the desired layer location A or B on the connected hardware Factory Reset (loading the default layers): ------------------------------------------- Option 1: - Power off the unit (for X-TOUCH MINI: disconnect from USB) - Hold down both LAYER A/B buttons - Power on the unit (for X-TOUCH MINI: reconnect USB to computer) - Wait approximately 10 seconds until the LEDs stop blinking - Release both LAYER buttons Option 2: - Power on / connect the unit to a Windows computer - Start the X-TOUCH editor - Press "Load" button - Open "default layer" folder - Open the sub folder with the name of your hardware (e.g. "mini" for X-TOUCH MINI) - Load Layer A (or B) - Press "Dump A" (or "Dump B") to send the default preset to your hardware Updating the firmware of the X-TOUCH COMPACT: --------------------------------------------- - Power off the unit - Connect USB to your Windows computer - Press + hold down the 2 left buttons of the upper middle row - Power on the unit - Wait approximately 10 seconds until the LEDs stop blinking - Release both buttons - Start the X-TOUCH editor - Check if your hardware has been detected (bottom area); The firmware version is shown as: N/A - Press the "Update" button and wait until the full update has been done - When the hardware update is successful, the newly-loaded firmware version is shown in the bottom area Updating the firmware of the X-TOUCH MINI: ------------------------------------------ - Power off the unit (by removing the USB cable) - Press + hold down the 2 left buttons of the lower row ("MC" + neighbouring button) - Connect the USB cable to your Windows computer (to power on the unit) - Wait approximately 10 seconds until the LEDs stop blinking - Release both buttons - Start the X-TOUCH editor - Check if your hardware has been detected (bottom area); The firmware version is shown as: N/A - Press the "Update" button and wait until the full update has been done - When the hardware update is successful, the newly-loaded firmware version is shown in the bottom area
